Mini Facelift

A mini facelift may be a good solution for a patient seeking minor changes.

Really everyone is interested in the mini facelift and I find that virtually every single person enquiring about facelift surgery wants to believe that they can have a mini lift because nobody wants a full facelift, which has really bad connotations for whatever reason. I think full facelift so to speak when done carefully and meticulously are unnoticeable. You cannot tell the people had surgery and really that is the most efficient way to correct the ageing changes. Mini facelifts, however, are useful in some people, but there are unique situations, you know, people want to come in and have just their cheeks elevated or they have unusual changes in the cheeks, but not the neck. In these situations, it is possible to addresses just these limited areas and we do this with different techniques. You can do a little mini lift by using a portion of the standard facelift incision in the midface. We can use telescopes to go into the midface and lift things in different vectors, either more vertically or more obliquely or horizontally, whatever is indicated. We can go into the neck alone and suture the muscles together, tighten the muscles, recreate the sling of the neck and then tighten the skin from small incisions behind the ear, although everyone wants to believe they are candidate for a mini lift, in general, mini procedures yield mini results in facelifting surgery. Carefully, meticulously done standard facelifting procedures yield the best results and they are the most natural.
