Rhinoplasty
Dr. Schwartz performs many primary and secondary, or revision, rhinoplasty procedures at his Pasadena, California, practice in Los Angeles. Rhinoplasty, or nasal surgery, is performed for both functional and cosmetic reasons. Dr. Schwartz's extensive training in head and neck surgery as well as cosmetic surgery enables him to address both functional and cosmetic issues in the same surgery.
Many people are unhappy with the appearance of their noses. Noses vary from person to person in terms of shape and size, and many people would like to change their nose but are unsure of what the results might be. Dr. Schwartz employs a great sense of esthetics with a thorough knowledge of nasal anatomy to achieve natural results tailored to each person's desires. He uses an imaging computer to demonstrate what is possible surgically, and feels this is both informational for the patient and also helps communication between patient and surgeon prior to the actual procedure. Dr. Schwartz's objectives are to achieve the desired changes while avoiding the telltale signs that someone has had cosmetic surgery. Rhinoplasty is often considered the most difficult cosmetic procedure and Dr. Schwartz's results demonstrate that he is able to deliver consistent excellence both cosmetically and functionally.
Dr. Schwartz consults with rhinoplasty patients across Pasadena, Los Angeles, and Southern California. If you would like to learn more about rhinoplasty at our Pasadena, California practice, please contact the office of Dr. Michael Schwartz today.
Revision Rhinoplasty
Many patients have undergone rhinoplasty surgery that is not successful for a variety of reasons. Dr. Schwartz sees many revision patients in his practice and takes care and pride in being able to correct deformities that either weren't corrected in previous surgeries, or are a result of the previous surgery. Common complications of rhinoplasty include leaving the lower bridge too high causing a "pollybeak" deformity, resecting or altering the tip cartilages so as to elevate the rims of the nose; creating a "hanging columella. Dr. Schwartz has developed techniques to correct these deformities, especially the lowering of the "alar" rims which is an extremely difficult but rewarding maneuver when successful.
Dr. Schwartz is happy to assess a patient's nose and render an opinion as to what would improve the appearance of the nose and the overall harmony of the nose and face.
